We received our Little Passports package in the mail a few days ago. Mr A always gets so excited when they get mail. This particular package is from their Early Explorers themed subscription. This months theme is Art Around the World.
He loves seeing what surprises he'll find inside.
He adds the monthly passport sticker to the wall. Mr A find the perfect spot for each one near his Little Passports map in his room.
Mr A and Mr Z had a great time painting the little canvas that came in the package. They mixed colors and scribbled allover the place. I love how staying inside the lines is not important to them. My dad always told me as a kid that if you can still see the lines, you're not doing it right. I take that as... Do as you will and be proud of it. Creativity has no lines.

Little Passports: Animals
We got our 4th Little Passports package a few days ago. Getting mail is always an ordeal around here. Mr A gets so excited when something is for him.
This month the theme of the Little Explorers version is Animals. Mr Z likes to play with the Flashlight Adventures booklet. It's a cardboard flashlight with a white circle. When placed behind the black screen it highlights a picture.
Mr A helped put these foam finger puppets together.
We have another booklet with several different activities in it. I try to save that for later in the month. So I'll update a bit more later.
But initially getting our package in the mail is always fun and exciting what new things it brings.

Day 5... MGT
CURRENCY!
Yesterday i spent the majority of the day prepparing freezer meals. So, after the boys went to bed, i was too tired to gather MGT materials for today.
Luckily the kids played nicely outside for awhile after a doctor appointment. I was able to gather some stuff. Im glad i did.
Currency was awesome. Having extra materials that coincide with the Mother Goose Time lessons really helps.
I put some kinetic sand in a bin and hid play coins in it. The boys played and matched the coins to the pictures on the poster... while i made lunch. Zaide mostly likes to hoard the coins and tease his brother. Lol. (Lunch was an awesome peanut butter jelly sandwich with a penny drawing & banana coins... Arai thought it was amazing).
After lunch we played Travel Bingo several times and used play coins for the markers.
The boys explored coins from around the world. These are from LITTLE PASSPORTS coin collection. They inspected the differences for a little hit. Then Arai matched the coins to the pictures in the booklet then we worked together to put the coins on the country they are from. Zaide put coins into a slotted container.
The boys made their wallet from MGT and then had to play Grocery Shopping. Arai likes to do the shopping and Zaide is the scanner/cashier.
Arai says his favorite activity was putting the coins on the earth and he learned that currency is money :-)

Music
The boys are overloaded with music from several different sources right now... and its awesome.
We go to Sound Beginnings to sing and dance together. Because of music class Arai has learned to count to 30, learned the order of the days of the week, knows a major scale, is learning basic sign language and so much more. Zaide sings in his own way here at home, but cuddles on my lap during class. He likes to do the nursery rhymes with motions.
Arai is in the play Peter Pan and so hes busy with rehearsals. We listen to the music cd several times a week... mostly in the car.
We have music cds from Mother Goose Time. This month its several different beats and instruments from around the world. The boys have a great time dancing to it.
Yesterday Arai had a first vocal lesson from Nana Bright. He came home excited to show me what he learned and had stickers to put on the piano. He plays the notes and sings a major scale.
Most days i have music playing on my cd player. Arai usually gets a choice of what he wants to hear. It sure is fun having music on all the time. He is remembering words to songs and singing them throughout his day.
You can never be too overloaded with music. right!?
...now for intro classes for learning an instrument. :-) ... well maybe later.

Little Passports
I have several different educational things that come in the mail. One of them is Little Passports.
The first month we got our suitcase, map and introductory booklet.
The second month, January, we got a package in the mail and Arai was so excited to open it. We got some landmark toys by Safari Ltd... a Leaning Tower od Pisa, Great Wall of China, Great Sphynx, Eiffel Tower. Each month comes with an activity book that goes along with the theme & , a sticker for the wall, and souvenirs from the travels of Max, Mia and Toby. Im excited that January's souvenirs will coincide with our Mother Goose Time theme for February, Its a Small World.
